Who is Dj Mrtn?

DJ Mrtn started DJ-ing when he was only 11 years old. After DJ-ing over 20 years
in various clubs across the Netherlands, Dj Mrtn finally reached a point where he wanted
to go back to the core of Dance Music. Deep analyzing the music that gives him “chicken skin” he concluded a few things: it always comes down to the beat and the bass-line which makes you want to dance to a song. The rest seems less relevant. So he started analyzing all the songs which he liked starting from his childhood until the dance music created today. He concluded a really remarkable thing (or maybe not!) that the dance music of today is highly influenced from historical dance music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Not that much has changed on this level.

In the ‘on stage performance’ of DJ Mrtn, Mrtn strips down Dance Music of all time to the point where you can ‘feel it’ : the beat and bass-line!
No vocals and melody line will be heard in this set! It is only loops from beats and bass-lines. But a set full of recognition although it is almost impossible to pinpoint the exact song and time-frame!
